
Melanie Abrams Fierstein is an L.A.-based first-generation-American screenwriter specializing in twisty, character-driven prestige dramas and IP/true crime adaptations (feature & TV). She is currently in development on a feature drama for Lifetime, and owns the options to 19 New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestselling novels. Most recently she was a staff writer on WORK RETREAT, the ‘LA Director’s Lab’ inaugural miniseries showrun by Emmy Lou Diaz.
Melanie is on the Austin Film Festival Top 25 Writers To Watch List and received the 2024 Inevitable Foundation 'Loreen Arbus Foundation' Grant.
Previously, Melanie was an accomplished speechwriter, organizer, and political consultant for candidates including Secretary Hillary Clinton, Senator Elizabeth Warren, and many others across the U.S. She mines her unique background and colorful upbringing for highbrow, commercial stories about fascinating characters that make you click “next episode”.
When she’s not glued to her laptop, Melanie enjoys reading murder mysteries, thrifting, and hunting down the world's best lobster roll.
