Melanie's Grandmother, April Byron, is an Australian pop-rock pioneer. She worked with and was mentored by legends like Rupert Murdoch, Clyde Packer, Johnny O'Keefe and Ron Tremaine, headlined shows with the Bee Gees, starred on her own television variety show The Go! Show (on which she cast Olivia Newton John as her backup singer), appeared on the cover of hundreds of newspapers and magazines, had #1 hits, won Entertainer of the Year, and was heralded as "Australia's Elizabeth Taylor".
