finds a parent in an unlikely new friend.

Sixteen-year-old Cal Bridges is suffering from a major bout of irritable teenage syndrome, and his flighty mother’s long-held habit of weeknight dates with different men doesn’t help. When she flits off to the Caribbean with her new man-of-the-month, Cal is left completely helpless.
When mysterious new-girl at school Sam joins the school band with Cal, he is instantly smitten. Sam has spent her life in and out of foster care and, like Cal, finds the responsibility of loneliness difficult – though they are both too hardheaded to admit it. The two loners find solace in each other; both unwanted, they are unadmittedly desperate for unconditional love. When Cal suggests that he is more adept at being on his own than Sam, she poses an experiment: that she move in with him and teach him everything he doesn’t know. From laundry to cooking to homemade proms, Cal and Sam discover how to be kids – while trying to be adults. Our two teens tackle the tiresome tasks of adulthood and form an unbreakable bond in the process in this hilarious, quirky coming-of-age short film.
